MCDONALD’S
50TH ANNIVERSARY CAMPAIGN 2025
Orchestrated by DDB Group Hong Kong, McDonald’s 50th Anniversary Campaign stands as a visual homage to the city and its legions of McDonald’s enthusiasts. The campaign breathes new life into classic mascots such as Uncle Ronald, the Hamburglar, Birdie, Grimace, and others, infusing the celebration with nostalgia and vibrant energy.
The campaign’s visuals, rich with nostalgic appeal, are the result of a collaborative effort featuring the artistic illustrations of Fourtin Yeung, coupled with the 3D rendering and post-production expertise of Pixelfix Digital Imaging, and the photography by Fan Kar Long Studio. Together, these elements craft images that resonate deeply with communal memories and embody the city’s dynamic spirit.
Utilising Hong Kong’s iconic public spaces for its Out-of-Home placements, the campaign strategically positioned installations at major locations including the Cross Harbour Tunnel, Hong Kong MTR station, and on various billboards and public transport systems. These installations draw passersby into a journey through time, encouraging them to reminisce with characters like Ronald McDonald, Birdie the Early Bird, Grimace, and the Hamburglar, as they relish in half a century of cherished memories.
